The pattern of propagation obtained herein for transitive reasoning task is compatible with imaging studies, which reported the involvement of frontal and posterior parietal regions in working memory tasks in PET and fMRI experiments. Inspecting this movie one can see that most of the time the transmission involves neighboring electrodes at the well defined centers and only from time to time the long range connections between active centers are activated. This is in agreement with the studies considering the optimal organization of the brain networks from the point of view of metabolic energy saving and efficient wiring, which indicated that preferred organization includes modular structure with dense connectivity inside the modules and more sparse connections between modules
